eucalyptus steamroom at home

I read about this via apartment therapy and decided to try it this weekend. After purchasing some branches at the grocery store for around $3, you hang them in the shower so that it releases the aroma into the air during a hot shower. Smells great and clears up your sinuses/airways.

Madeline Weinrib, Atelier

Textile designer, Madeline Weinrib, grew up in New York City as the great granddaughter to the founder of ABC carpets and Home. With a background in painting and design, she bridged a gap she saw in the carpet industry for more interesting and exciting concepts in textile design. Since her debut of classic cotton rugs, she has expanded into tibetan weaves, velvets, ikat, denim, suzani and vintage exclusives found while traveling.

Also on the horizon are a line of pillows, fabrics, furniture and accessories.

Kaufmann House : Palm Springs

For the current spring catalog shoot, J.Crew used the Kaufmann house in Palm Springs, a classic example of mid century modern architecture.

Kaufmann House was commissioned by Edgar J. Kaufmann Sr., the same man who commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to build Fallingwater. You can see the parallels between both homes such as clearly embracing the environment and blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors. It was designed by Richard Neutra in 1946 and was recently restored to it's former glory. The couple behind the restoration, will be auctioning off the building, with a presale estimate of $15 million to $25 million, via Christie's high-profile evening sale of postwar and contemporary art.

peacock chairs

Currently searching for a 70's peacock chair for the patio. Made famous by Al Green and strangely, Morticia Addams of The Addams Family, everyone had one back in the day. With the right fabric redux, it could be quite a cozy place to sit on a summer's night coccooned in the tall wicker walls.
